1973-77 were my graduate school years at
UCSB where I studied political theory and constitutional law.

The
Grateful Dead appeared at UCSB several times in 1973-74 and I was there to
soak up the sun and the tunes. "Come, hear Uncle John's band... ." |

I
rediscovered European movies during my grad school years and the six below became some of my favorites. Lina Wurtmuller (who directed the
two movies on
the right) was actually nominated for best director for Seven Beauties.
